Manfred "Doug" Ort's Obituary
Manfred “Doug” Ort, 77, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Bernard and Helen (Voirol) Ort. He and his wife of 55 years Janice (Coomer) Ort, who passed away November 2015, were members of Central Church, Fort Wayne, Fort Wayne Corvette Club, Goldwing Road Riders Assoc., and previous members of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. Doug operated Ort & Sons Construction, was a motor coach driver, Irving Ready-Mix Driver, and a part time farmer.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Brice Shaw) Ort of Anacortes, WA, and Keith (Kelli) Ort of Syracuse, IN; brother, Robert (Trish) Ort of New Haven; sisters, Rita (Michael) McAlliser of Leo, Karen (Larry) Bradford of Oakwood, OH, and Sandra (Greg) Witte of Woodburn; grandchildren, Grant, Samantha, and Alexandra Meeker, Tyler, Ryan, twins Kylee and Ashlee Ort, and step-grandson, Chase Shaw. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Leroy Ort.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Don Delagrange officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
