Genevieve M. Beverly, 89, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Woodview a Waters Community, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Bowers. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. She loved her country home, eating out and polka/square dancing. She always enjoyed hot coffee, sweets of all kinds (especially cinnamon rolls from the New Haven Bakery), the color red, visits from her family, funny jokes and hearing the song "How Great Thou Art".
She is survived by her children, David Beverly and Duane (Nancy) Beverly both of Fort Wayne, and Susan (David) Knefelkamp of Hoagland; siblings, Teresa Voirol of Monroeville, Leonard Bowers and Norbert Bowers of Florida, Johnny Bowers, Dolores Stratton, and Marie Chandler, all of New Haven; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Beverly in 1977; siblings, Manny, Walter, Bernon, and Joseph Bowers, Alma Maldeney, and Marcella Kline.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Mark Enemali officiating. Calling is also 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Masses.
