Lynn Hopkins Shaw's Obituary
Lynn Hopkins Shaw, 88, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Norman and Evahelen (Hopkins) Shaw. A graduate of New Haven High School, he went on to serve in the Air National Guard for eight years. He was a barber in New Haven for 25 years where he had lived since 1948. He was also Justice of the Peace for nine years, Adams Township Trustee for 11 years, Mayor of New Haven for 12 years, and was a member of Masonic Lodge New Haven #740. He enjoyed spending time golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his children, David, Kent and Lori Shaw, and Kelle (Rob) Gibbs; sister, Lana (Lenny) Levine; grandchildren, Zade (Bethany) Shaw, Karah (Ryan) DePue, and Sarah Dorr; and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Audrey (Grandstaff) Shaw in 1977.
Funeral service is 10:30 am Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 7 pm Friday, February 28, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the New Haven Community Foundation.
