Louena C. Scherer's Obituary
Louena C. Scherer, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lena (Kanning) Bearman. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. Louena retired in 1991 from Magnavox Corp. after 12 years. Louena loved sports, bingo, a good card game, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald; children, Stanley (Debra) Scherer of Fort Wayne, Randy (Pam) Scherer of Monroeville, Diane (Jim) Riecken and Connie (Jim) Newman both of Fort Wayne, and Cheryl (Len) Schlotter of Fishers; sister, Hildegarde Bauermeister of Ossian; 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur, Ted, Howard Bearman, Irma Dressler, and Dorothy Bearman.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Worship for Shut-ins.
