Lonnie Herrell's Obituary
Lonnie L. Herrell, 84, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Elkhart Place Assisted Living, Elkhart. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Thurman and Emily (Ervin) Herrell. He retired in 1993 from Gladieux Refinery and went on to own Loonie and Silly's Country Bar in New Haven until 2005. He enjoyed Karaoke, casinos, bowling, golfing, and playing cards, always in the company of good friends and family.
He is survived by his children, Brian and Ron (Tracie) Herrell and Sherri (Dan) Berghoff; siblings, Ford and Billy Herrell, and Mildred Stanley; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by wife, Violet "Sally" (Jones) Herrell in 2003; and siblings, August "Virgil", James "Roy" and Clifford Herrell, Dee Stanley, and Shirley Herrell.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 E. St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial is 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024, at W.H. Parman Cemetery, 1212 Holly Grove Rd, Corbin, Ky.
