Lois Kaye Clark's Obituary
Lois Kaye Clark, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Irene (Schmitt) Malone. Michigan always held a very special place in her heart, with family still living there and the friendships built there lasting throughout her life. Her love for the beach and Michigan football ran deep, spending summers at Grand Haven was one of her favorite pastimes and she never missed a Wolverine game... Go Blue!
After moving to Indiana, she became a dedicated employee of North American Van Lines, where she remained loyal for over 40 years before losing her job during Covid. She was described by coworkers as "wonderfully fun, a beautiful soul, hard-working, and a bright light," just to mention a few. Lois was loved dearly by her work family, many of which stood by her side to the very end.
She LOVED Christmas. You could find her watching Hallmark Christmas movies all year long and she really enjoyed decorating for all the holidays. Along with the indoors, she spent a lot of time working outdoors in the yard, and her green thumb definitely shined through on her flowers. She took tremendous pride in her home. She was also a big fan of NASCAR (Jimmie Johnson,) chocolate, cats, music, white Russians, and above all, family. She fiercely loved her family and the memories made with them were most important to her.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Mike Schmuker) Austin, Jessica (Jon Thurber) Clark; brother, Terry Malone; grandchildren, Jacob (Angela,) Justine, Wyatt, Ariya, Haylie, and Kyzer; great grandchildren, Lilly, Maizey, and Kody; nephews, Dustin and Ash Malone. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patti Malone.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Preferred memorials to Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven, Ferrysburg, Mich., www.heavencanwaitmi.org Arrangements by Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E, New Haven. To share online condolences please visit www.harperfuneralhome.com
