LeRoy J. Hammond's Obituary
LeRoy J. Hammond, 61, of New Haven died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Hammond. He attended Lifeway Wesleyan Church and was a member of Navy Club Ship #245. He had been employed with REA Magnet Wire for 40 years.
He is survived by his children, Christina (Steve) Pietryga of Mesa, AZ, Mike (Jennifer) Hammond of Huntertown, and Jeff (Amy) Hammond of Avondale, AZ; siblings, Mary Chevillot of Florida, Larry (Sue) Hammond of Ossian, Pat (Dick) Webster of Florida, Theresa Hanson of Illinois, Dick (Bobbie) Hammond of New Haven, Beverly (Orlando) Gonzalez of Colorado, Barbara Hibbs, of Fort Wayne, and Sally (George) Kunke of Washington; 14 grandchildren; and his close aunt, Donna Sadler of New Haven. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Hammond; and granddaughter, Rebekah Hammond.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Lifeway Wesleyan Church, 7722 Moeller Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Fletcher officiating. Calling is also 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Assoc. or American Diabetes Assoc.
