Lavon H. Koenemann's Obituary
Lavon H. Koenemann, 81, of Woodburn passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Milan Twp. she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Tena ( nee. Gerbers) Koenemann. She was a faithful lifelong member of Zion (Bull Rapids) Lutheran Church, Woodburn, and sang in the church choir for over 60 years. She enjoyed her many summers serving customers at the Dairy Sweet Restaurant in Woodburn before retiring in 2003. She was an avid bowler, gardener and loved playing cards with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons Jerald "Jerry" (Dixie) Koenemann of Coldwater, MI and Roger (Cheryl) Koenemann of Ft. Wayne. She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lester Koenemann in 2004, brothers, Wilbur and Raymond Rekeweg and sister Lucille Reinking.
Services are 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, 7616 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, IN with calling 1 hour before service time. Calling will be from 1-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy 930 E, New Haven, IN. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are to Woodburn Lutheran School, Zion Lutheran Church (Woodburn) or Worship for Shut ins.
