Laura "Lee Bug" Cook's Obituary
Laura L. “Lee Bug” Cook, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Alcorn) Douglas. She was a member of the Christ’s Church, Fort Wayne. She worked in the cafeteria with East Allen County Schools and helped her husband Gary at the body shop. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, the swimming pool, car shows, interior decorating, cooking and was well known for her homemade fudge. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. Lee Bug would drop everything to help care for her family members and close friends. A true angel and caregiver. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gary Cook; sons, Mike Ladig, Jason Cook, and Bill (Rainy) Hood; daughters, Misty Ladig, Jamie (Chris) Norwalt, Heather (Lee) Leazier, and Jessica Cook; siblings, Charles (Cathy) Douglas, Dana (Lonnie) Kolkman, Penny (Steve McKinley) Barrand, and Maryann Schey; 27 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her grandsons, Timothy and Gary Ladig; stepfather, Victor Gerig. Funeral service is 1 pm Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitations are also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the funeral home Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
