L. John Ryan III's Obituary
L. John Ryan III, 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Towne House Retirement Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. He was a funeral director at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, and a past member of both the Indiana and National Funeral Directors Associations. He was also the owner and operator of a large antique mall in Logansport and a corrections officer at Cass County Jail. He was a member of the National Exchange Club, the Knights of Columbus, the NRA, was a master gardener through Purdue University and enjoyed fishing, antiquing, and classic cars. He is survived by his children, Emma "Shelley" (Greg) Haines and Sean (Crystal) Ryan both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Ryan Haines, Haley Haines and Madison Ryan all of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Laura (Randy) Baird of Fremont, Joann (Greg) Leach of Angola, Karen (Rich) Uggen of Muncie and Julie (Paul) McCarthy of Carmel. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Trudy; and parents, William and Patricia Schantz. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022, at St. Louis Besanson Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Burial in the church cemetery.
