Kenneth "Ken" Braun's Obituary
Kenneth "Ken" Braun, 78, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center Hospice, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Rolland and Hilda Braun. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest), Fort Wayne. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in 1954. He went on to attend GE Apprentice School as a tool and die maker and worked at GE and Bowmar Corp. He retired in 1996 from Tokheim Manufacturing Company after over 30 years and started his own business, Braun Custom Lathe and Milling. He served two tours of duty in the US Army and was a lifelong member of the NRA. Ken was a hunter and loved camping.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois Braun of Fort Wayne; children, Robert G. Braun, Kay (Bruce) Kilpatrick, Janet (Mark Blessing) Braun, and Susan (Joe) Bennett all of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren, Ethan (Abby) Bennett, Kaitlynn Bennett, Joshua Bennett, and Rachel Kilpatrick all of Fort Wayne, and David Kilpatrick of Indianapolis. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling hours one hour prior. Pastor Kyle Krueger officiating. Calling is also 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are Parkview Home Health and Hospice or Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest).
