Kathy (Davis) Hohenbrink's Obituary
Kathy (Davis) Hohenbrink, 40, of Fort Wayne, went peacefully home to the Lord Wednesday, April 9, 2014 surrounded by her family after a nearly two year courageous battle with cancer. Mary Kathleen Davis was born to Douglas and Mary (Brubaker) on July 22, 1973 in Defiance, Ohio. She grew up in Defiance and graduated from Defiance High School in 1992. She earned an associate degree from Northwest State Community College. Kathy had such a zest for life. She enjoyed experiencing new things and loved to cook, travel and spend time with her family and friends. On September 27, 1997 she married the love of her life, Rick Hohenbrink. Together they had two sons Carter Douglas and Garrett Lee. She was a devoted wife and mother and was involved in all aspects of their children's lives. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven and a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Defiance.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 16 years, Rick; sons, Carter and Garrett both at home; parents, Douglas and Mary Davis of Defiance; brothers, Matt Davis of Defiance, OH and Mark Davis of Columbus, OH; father-in-law, Dick Hohenbrink of Defiance, OH; and mother-in-law, Jeanie (Tom) Lewis of Defiance, OH; and many friends including her "special angels". She was preceded in death by grandparents, Merlyn and Margaret Davis and Walter and Clara Brubaker.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Rev. David Stecker officiating. Calling is also from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to her children's education fund, c/o Richard Hohenbrink.
