Kathleen "Kate" Sivits' Obituary
Kathleen “Kate” Sivits, 78, of New Haven, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Theresa Bruick. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She loved china painting and taught others the skill. She also loved needlepoint and the Indy 500.
She is survived by her children, Candy (Dick) Brenneke of Woodburn, Karen Clark and Gary Sivits both of New Haven, and Pam (Doug) Bastian and Kevin (Julie) Kinsey both of Fort Wayne; brother, Don (Dorothy) Bruick of New Haven; sister-in-law, Thelma Bruick of New Haven; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard in 2009; brother, Melvin Bruick; and grandson, Todd Brenneke.
Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, National Kidney Foundation, or Alzheimer’s Association.
