Juanita E. Lake's Obituary
Juanita E. Lake, 95, went into the arms of the Lord, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Lagro, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Lucille (Brothers) Frieden. She was a past member of Harlan Methodist Church, Harlan and St. Joe Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. She handled the family chicken operation when her husband was away working for the railroad. After her husband’s passing, she went on to be an LPN. She was employed at Byron Health Center and retired as an LPN in 1985 from St. Anne Home after 14 years. She loved to read, cross stitch, word puzzles and watch Purdue basketball.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Cindy) Lake of Manhattan, IL, Sharon (Dr. William) Kammeyer of Fort Wayne, Greg (Sally) Lake of Woodburn, Jim (Diane) Lake and Jerry (Linda) Lake both of Fremont, and Lisa (Dale) Rekeweg of Spencerville; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband Carl Lake in 1970; and daughter, Anita Louise Lake in 1943.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd., Woodburn with calling one hour prior. Pastor Donald Delagrange officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials are to Woodburn Missionary Church, Woodburn Christian Children’s Home, or Heartland Hospice.
