Jon Bob Collette's Obituary
Jon "Bob" Collette, 78, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Jon was born in French Lick. He was a custodian at Arlington Elementary, Fort Wayne. The Army veteran proudly served his country and was a member of the Navy Club-New Haven, American Legion Post #241-Waynedale, Eagles-Fort Wayne, and a lifelong member of the VFW-Plymouth. Jon could be often found cheering on his favorite team, the U.K. Wildcats. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Martha (Kaufman) Collette; children, Jon (Barb) Collette II of Lake Wales, FL, Roberto Jake" Collette of Pierceton, Mike (Lisa) Shuler, and Dennis (Tracey) Shuler both of Fort Wayne, Randy (Ticia) Shuler of Casselberry, FL, Bobbi Jo (Rick) Miller of Columbia City, Dawni (Mike) Cramer of Fort Wayne, and April Slone of Pierceton; Sister Pat Ladig of Fort Wayne, 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Collette, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Phil Harris officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice Care, and American Legion Post #241, Waynedale.
