John W. "Johnny" Trowbridge's Obituary
John W. “Johnny” Trowbridge, 84, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne. Born November 14, 1931 at home in Noble County, he was the youngest of twins and a son of the late David and Mildred (Griffith) Trowbridge. On June 29, 1952, he married Merna Magnes, in Kendallville. He retired after 37 years as a wire enamaler at Rea Magnet Wire. He enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms every spring, flying remote control airplanes, and traveling.
He is survived by his children, Charles (Marilyn) Trowbridge of New Haven, Jerry (Patty) Trowbridge of Leo, and Jane (Hein) Ahlersmeyer of New Haven; sister, Judy (Leonard) Vincent of Auburn; grandchildren, Shane (Kelli) Trowbridge of Noblesville, Andy (Lindsay) Trowbridge of Leo, Kara (Jeremy) Burdick of Fort Rucker, AL, Kristen (Dan) Jordan of Fort Wayne, Tish (David) Clendenen of Boulder, CO, and Kelli (Fabio) Fiori of New Haven; and nine great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Merna Trowbridge on November 16, 1989; son, Gary Trowbridge on February 22, 2007; and his twin brother, James (Jim) on May 26, 2015.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling half hour prior. Pastor David Stecker officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier.
