John Edward Gahan's Obituary
John Edward Gahan, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Granite City, Ill., he was the son of the late Edward and Louise (Anderson) Gahan. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post 330, Loyal Order of Moose, and The Forty and Eight Club. He was the owner and operator of Cabinets and Flooring Inc for over 20 years, retiring in 2007. An avid sports fan, he cheered for Dale Earnhardt and the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed golfing, western movies, Fort Myers Beach, and especially loved his grandchildren and attending their events.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; daughters, Jeannie (Andrew) Wehnert of New Haven and Kristy (DeWayne) Clouse of Angola; grandchildren, Rigo (Brittne) Gasnarez, Cassie (Matthias) Boone, Cody Goldner, Chase Clouse, and Carly (Keaton) Daugherty; great grandchildren, Nadya, Mariano, Rodrigo, Evangelina, Ellouise, and baby boy on the way; siblings-in-law, Helen Gahan, Sheila (Dale) Kincaid, Bea (Jerry) McDaniel, Tom (Janet) McCommons, and Phillip McCommons; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gahan.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at funeral home.
