Joann Summey's Obituary
Joann Elizabeth Summey, 94, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born in Payne, Ohio she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Kirkland) Snyder. She was a charter member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, birds, traveling, and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Mark (Colleen) Summey of New Haven; grandson, John Summey of New Haven; nieces, Nan (Randy) Castle and Julie (Ted) Dinger; and nephew-in-law, Chuck Luther. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Summey in 1982; brother, William Snyder; sister-in-law, Jane Snyder; and niece, Cindy Luther. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 IN 930, New Haven with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation is also 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
