Joan Ruth Reichhart's Obituary
Joan Ruth Reichhart, 94, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Chapman Place, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther (Hockemeyer) Heine. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. She was a member of Ladies Aid, LWML, a Stephen Minister, an officer for Federation for Lutheran Women, and volunteered at Parkview Hospital. Joan’s faith in Jesus Christ was the source of her hope and moved her to serve others. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, the family farm, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Ruth (Ralph) Seddelmeyer, Dale (Rose) Reichhart, William “Bill” (Penny) Reichhart, and Janice (Scott) Bruick; sisters, Maxine Knipstein, and Jane Brown; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great granddaughters. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Luellyn “Lu” Reichhart in 2000; granddaughter, Kristi Seddelmeyer. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven, with visitations one hour prior. Visitations are also 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the church. Burial in the church cemetery.
