Joan Ann Gaffney's Obituary
Joan A. Gaffney, 91, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Grimes) Browne. She spent many years as a florist and was an avid bookstore patron and reader. She loved being a grandmother and sharing time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her, daughters, Dianne (Thomas) Gorlesky and Jody (Bill) Kowalski; sister, Jacqueline Menna; grandchildren, Janette (Kevin) Richardson, Patrick Gorlesky, Erin (Adam) Schaum, Kara Kowalski, William (Vanessa) Kowalski, Kenneth (Lauren) Kowalski, Emily Kowalski; and great grandchildren, Abbey Richardson, Madison, Lila, and Josie Gorlesky, Nolan, Gavin, and Claire Schaum, Ellie Kowalski, and Baby Girl Kowalski. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard in 1993; son, Richard Gaffney Junior; granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Gorlesky; five sisters; and one brother. Memorial service to be held in New York at a later date. Internment of Cremains in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York. Preferred memorials are to donor’s choice.
