Joan A. Dunbar's Obituary
Joan A. Dunbar, 82, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Marion on September 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothea Morris. She was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired in 1985 from GTE after 34 years of service and was a member of the GTE/Verizon Retirees Club. She was an avid bowler, and a fan of IU basketball, Chicago Cubs baseball, Indiana Pacers basketball, and Indianapolis Colts football.
Joan is survived by children, Diana (Jim) Ratliff of Crestline, Ohio, Earlene (Rick) Panning of Angola, Cathy Smith of Phoenix, Caryn (Doug) Roemer of New Haven, Randy (Marilyn) and Jeffrey Dunbar both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Patricia (Don) Lewis and Jean (Mike) Payne both of Marion, and Roberta Lyon of Claypool; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dunbar in 2000.
Memorial service is 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior to service. Rev. Steven Conner officiating.
