Jimmy Ray Shanebrook's Obituary
Jimmy "Jim" Ray Shanebrook, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Elson and Dora (Cohrs) Shanebrook. He was a member of the Woodburn Missionary Church and past member of the Woodburn Lion's Club. He worked for Delagrange Homes for 30 years and went on to be a building inspector for the Allen County Building Department. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also known for sharing stories from his past that were enjoyed by many. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (Miller) Shanebrook; children, David (Jennifer) Shanebrook of Fort Wayne and Joan (Jay) Wenger of Goshen; and grandchildren, Austin Wenger, Emily Wenger, Garrett Shanebrook. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Miller-Estep. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials are to the church.
