Jimmie L. McDonnell's Obituary
Jimmie L. McDonnell, 62, of Leo, died, Monday, June 13, 2011 at home. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lucille McDonnell. He was employed at the Allen County Highway Department for over 38 years. He was very involved with Special People Bowling and Fishing Has No Boundaries of Mid-North Indiana. He loved fishing, bowling and golf, but his love for his grandchildren always came first.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ann; children, John and Anita McDonnell both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Shania, Ari, Trayden and Lillie; brother, Larry McDonnell of Fort Wayne; and extra special sister-in-law, Kay McDonald of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Clyde & Ethel Matchett.
A celebration of life is 10 a.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, where blue jean attire is preferred. Pastor Max Wanner officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Leo Cemetery, Leo. In lieu of flowers the family would strongly urge donations be made to Fishing Has No Boundaries of Mid-North Indiana or Special Peoples Bowling.
