Jerry "Mouse" R. Meyer's Obituary
Jerry R. "Mouse" Meyer, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Henry and Lola (Leedy) Meyer. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran (Soest) Church, Fort Wayne. He was a 1965 graduate of Hoagland High School. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member and finance officer at American Legion Post 296. He was a manager at Valley Equipment, a handyman, and previously owned the Shell gas station in Hoagland. He never met a stranger and loved gardening, the outdoors and tree farming. He is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Jan; siblings, William Meyer of Indianapolis, and LouAnn Saalfrank of Hoagland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Meyer. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran (Soest) Church, 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior and followed by military honors. Visitation is also 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials to the church, American Legion Post 296 or Shepherd's House.
