Jerline "Gerri" Huff's Obituary
Jerline "Gerri" Huff, 65, of Fort Wayne passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 after a long battle with lung cancer. Born in Knoxville, Tenn. she settled in Fort Wayne during the summer of 1971. She lived on Eleyetta Street until her divorce in 1988. She went on to meet the love of her life, John Huff, who remained by her side until her last breath. She was a caretaker with Catholic Charities for ten years. Jerline gave a tremendous fight to stay with her earthly family; the Lord decided that she has more important things to do in Heaven, where she has her health back and can help out. The world has lost a great daughter, wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John E. Huff; children, Tawana Brown, Virgil Allen (Cheri) Garner, Jr. and Scott (Nicole) Garner; mother, Ethel Nelomns Thomas; step-children, Johnny Ray (Laura) Huff and Betty Sue (Rick) Davis; brother-in-law, Carson Huff; grandchildren, Kyler and Keaton; ten step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her father George Nelomns; infant brother, Raymond; sister, Ada Nelomns Akins; and sister-in-law, Ruby Huff.
