Jeffrey David Tonkel's Obituary
Jeffrey Tonkel, 46, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born on January 8, 1976, in Fort Wayne, he was baptized on January 25, 1976, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. He confirmed his faith on May 5, 1991, at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Birmingham, MI. He attended several elementary schools due to his father's job. He attended Wyley Groves High School, Birmingham, MI and graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School, Fort Wayne. He found his passion in servicing cars and spent his time as an ASC mechanic, most recently at Midas, Fort Wayne as a service advisor. He also served his country in the US Army and enjoyed camping and canoeing.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Fuelling; sister, Kristin Newton; niece, Caitlyn Newton; and nephew, Jaden Newton. He was preceded in death by his father, David Wayne Tonkel.
Memorial service is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven with visitation one and a half hour prior. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association. Arrangements by Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
