Jeffrey Wayne Becker's Obituary
Jeffrey Wayne Becker, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Fort Wayne, Jeff was the son of the late Carl and Charlotte (Wiese) Becker. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1971 and went on to attend Indiana University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Jeff began his career as a CPA in Washington, D.C., before returning to Indiana, where he later worked for 30 years as a meat cutter at Kroger until his retirement. Jeff was a member of Taylor Chapel in Fort Wayne and Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven. An avid sports fan throughout his life, he enjoyed participating in athletics during his youth and remained a devoted supporter of Indiana University athletics and the Fort Wayne Komets. He also found joy in music, reading, following the news, and most of all spending time with his family.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 14 years, Catherine “Marie” Becker; his siblings, Larry (Karen) Becker, Bill (Linda) Becker, and Becky Becker-Lynch; sisters-in-law Nancy Becker and Sharon Becker; ten nieces and nephews; three step-granddaughters; twenty grandnieces and grandnephews; and his beloved dog, Komet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ron Becker and Dennis Becker, and his brother-in-law, Terry Lynch. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial will follow at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in New Haven.
