Jeanette Vonderau Walker's Obituary
Jeanette June (Johnson) Vonderau Walker, 95, passed away on Saturday, March 27 at Chapman Place Senior Living, Fort Wayne. She was born on December 14, 1925 to the late Archie and Rosa (Pion) Johnson in Huntertown. She was married to the late Frederick Vonderau on September 2, 1944. Mr. Vonderau passed away on November 4, 2002 after 58 years of marriage. Subsequently, she married the late Norman Walker in 2007. Mr. Walker passed away in 2011, after 4 years of marriage. She was a homemaker until she went to work for Belmont’s Department Store, Fort Wayne. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, St. Peter’s Ladies Aid and the Mi-Jo Club. She was an active member in quilting at the church. She is survived by her children, Sandra Eader of Garrett, Herbert (Terri) Vonderau of Lima, OH, and Mary (Randy) Bohren of New Haven; siblings, Janas Brandt, Archie and Jerry Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and John Johnson. Funeral service is 12 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation two hours prior. Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Service will be live streamed on the church website www.stpetersfw.org. Masks required. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Eleos Hospice, Fort Wayne.
