Jeanette A. Vachon's Obituary
Jeanette A. Vachon, 86, of New Haven passed away on November 1, 2014. Born in Monroeville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Marie (Lortie) Gerardot. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. Jeanette was an Inventory Controller for Zoller Pistons for 17 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and Forrester. She enjoyed crochet, knitting, cooking, traveling, square dancing, painting and especially tending and taking pride in her rose garden. Jeanette had a strong faith in God and enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis Harber, Susan (Michael) Reinbolt, Therese Vachon, Thomas (Kimberly) Vachon, Jr, and Michael (Heather) Vachon of New Haven, and Patricia (Michael) Ryznar of Fortville; siblings, Lucille Miller of New Haven, and Albert (Patricia) Gerardot of Monroeville; brother in law, Dowane Shoaf of Columbia City; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Vachon, Sr., who she married October 11, 1947 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville; daughters, Marie Vachon in 1962 and Margaret Vachon in 2013; siblings, Justin, Lawrence, and Arnold "Bud" Gerardot, Melitine Hartman, and Madonna Maldeney; and daughter in law, Tamara Vachon.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary Service. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice and Masses.
