Jean R. Starkey's Obituary
Jean R. Starkey, 85, of New Haven, passed into the arms of Jesus, Friday, February 8, 2013 at her home. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabella Calder and a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church. In her early years she had been a typist for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio.
She retired in 1997 after 20 years with K-Mart on Coliseum Blvd, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Frank) Ladig of New Haven, Laura (Joe) Mowery of Seminole, FL; son, Robert Starkey of Ft. Wayne; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Calder of Barberton, Ohio; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John "Bill" Starkey in 2010.
Funeral service is at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 at the New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 E. Lincoln Hwy., New Haven, with calling from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. prior to service. Pastor Rick Taylor officiating. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Arrangements are by E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven.
