Jean W. Quandt's Obituary
Jean Wellington Sawyer Quandt, 96, passed away on March 6, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne. Born in Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Peters) Sawyer. She moved to Indiana when she married Herrold Quandt, who preceded her in death. She raised seven children in a loving home and was a very faithful and prayerful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. Jean was an executive secretary at GE, Western Auto, and Catholic Social Services. She was a resident of Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne, where she spread love and good cheer to the staff and fellow residents throughout her 20-year residency. Jean was defined by her love of God, family, friends and neighbors. She lived her life with an upbeat and positive outlook, thankful (as she would say often) for her many blessings. She will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Michael) Perrine, David Quandt, Beverly (William) Roberts, Joanna Quandt, Herrold "Harry" (Donna) Quandt, Diane (Robert) Dale and Mary Quandt; sister, Grace "Lil" Sibson; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred and Herbert. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
