Jean E. Hieber's Obituary
Jean E. Hieber, 85, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Heritage Pointe of Fort Wayne. Born in Odell, NE she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Velma (Metzger) Bicker. Jean married Charles R. Hieber on October 27, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA, who preceded her in death in 2015. She worked for the Navy for a couple of years and was a stay-at-home mom for several years before returning to the workforce. She worked in the office at Concordia Lutheran High School for ten years. Jean also taught piano lessons and played the organ for weddings, funerals and church services. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. Her devotion to her family and her faith in God is a true testament of what a wonderful woman she will always be remembered for. She fought Parkinson's Disease for over 25 years years with courage and dignity and was a true inspiration to all. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, working in her flower beds and reading her bible. She is survived by her children, Debbie Hieber, Mark Hieber and Joel (Darcy) Hieber; granddaughter, MacKenzie Hieber; siblings, Arden (Eyline Cowart) Bicker, Alvin (Judy) Bicker, David (Tina) Bicker and Joan Steigerwald; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Ralph) Hieber-Aielo. She was also preceded in death by three infant siblings. Celebration of Life is 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m prior to service. Mask Required.
