Janus L. Frane's Obituary
Janus L. Frane, 86, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Farmland, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Blanch (nee. Dever) Bales. She moved to New Haven in 1942, and was a 1944 graduate of New Haven High School. She spent many years as a 4-H leader in Jefferson Twp. After moving to the Monroeville farm in 1964, she enjoyed many years as a farmer's wife, working alongside her husband of 66 years, Devon, who preceded her in death in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianna (Michael) Voors of Woodburn; grandsons, David (Tina) Voors of Monroeville and Mark (Jennifer) Voors of West Lafayette; great grandchildren, Sarah, Samantha, Emma, Luke and Ava; sisters, Mary (George) England and Betty Surine both of Fort Wayne; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Norm) Miller of New Haven and Delight (Junior) Springer of Ossian.
She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bob Squier; and brother-in-law Dick Surine.
Funeral service is 1 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Fr. Steve Colchin officiating. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven.
