Jani Lynn Johnson's Obituary
Jani Lynn Johnson, 63, of Monroeville, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born on October 23, 1961, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Albert Bowers and Karen (Joseph) Adams. She was the activities director for 13 years at Byron Health Center, Fort Wayne. Jani was a lifetime member of the Howard Bandelier VFW 2457, New Haven, and the American Legion Post 420 Auxiliary, Monroeville. She enjoyed motorcycles, crocheting, gardening, crafting, painting, and calligraphy, and was an avid 8 ball pool player. She especially loved spending time with her family and spoiling grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a "Princess" and known as "The Boss".
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Nicholas) McVittie, and Kristell (Jason) Dunn; stepchildren, Bobby (Annette) Johnson, Sarah Anne (Josh) Johnston, and Craig (Melissa) McDaniel; siblings, Jennie (Roy) Jordan, John (Karen) Bowers, Joan (Kurt) Knight, and Jerry (Mindy) Bowers; significant other, Rickey "Mac" McDaniel; grandchildren, Elyssa (Jullian) Moore, Shelbi Hess, Jaiden Johnson, Kailyn Johnson, Jordyn Jewell, Jaycee Kline, Cullen Dunn, and Kallee Dunn; great grandchildren, Kyson Moore and Oaklynn Moore; ten step-grandchildren and eleven step-great grandchildren; special aunt, LoisAnn Lovinger and her furry friends, Princess, Dutchess, and Harley. She was also preceded in death by her son, Matthew Johnson, and stepchildren, Jerry Johnson, and Michelle Johnson.
Funeral service is 11 am Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville. Preferred memorials are for the family, c/o Elizabeth McVittie.
