Jane E Gerbers' Obituary
Jane E. Gerbers, 89, of Woodburn, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at home. Born in Kettle Island, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Starling and Otha (Ridner) Carroll. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She had worked at Modern Cleaners in New Haven in the 1950s and went on to retire in 1997 from Sheller-Globe Corp after 20 years. Jane was always busy at the farm as well, doing whatever it took to get the jobs done. She enjoyed reading, tending her flower garden, and driving around the farm with her husband Willard in their golf cart. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Gerbers and Julie Haag; brother, Mearlon Carroll; and four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Willard in 2002; and siblings, Kinley, Franklin, Enoch “Ed”, Cora, and Starling Jr., Carroll.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Woodburn. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, and East Central Fire & E.M.S.
