Jane M Brown's Obituary
Jane M. Brown, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Georgetowne Place, Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther (Hockemeyer) Heine. She retired from HWI-Do It Best in 2001 after 20 years. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven, where she was a member of the Choir, Altar Circle, and Ladies Society. She enjoyed baking pies, gardening, and canning. Jane especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Andy) Birkmire of Monroeville, Connie (Greg) Schmidt of Woodburn, and Carla (Ray) Alexander of Fort Wayne; sister, Maxine Knipstein; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald Gene Brown in 2021; sister, Joan Reichhart. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E, New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the church or Worship Anew.
