James F. "Jim" Weikel's Obituary
James F. "Jim" Weikel, 91, of Fort Wayne, formerly of New Haven, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne. Born in Ossian, he was the son of the late Charles and Velma (Flum) Weikel. He was a member of New Horizon Fellowship, New Haven. He was a bible teacher at church as well as Majestic Care, New Haven. He served his country in the US Army and retired in 1991 from Navistar after 32 years. He enjoyed traveling and playing in the church softball and basketball leagues.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca (Fredrick) Maroney, Leslie Weikel, and Larita (Nicholas) Grimmer; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ramona; and brother, William Weikel
Funeral service is 10:30 am Monday, January 6, 2025, at New Horizon Fellowship, 1330 Werling Rd., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 5 pm Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Entombment in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
