James W. Short's Obituary
James W. Short, 74, of New Haven, went home to be with Jesus, Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in West Liberty, KY he was the son of the late James and Vernie Short. He had attended the First Baptist Church, New Haven and been a proud member of the Air Force Reserves. He retired from Bergstrom Paper Company.
He is survived by his children: James (Kim) Short of Adairsville, GA, Jason Short of Tunnel Hill, GA, Brenda (Rich) Steigerwald, W. DeWayne (Theresa) Sarrazin and Debra Dailey all of New Haven; brothers: Earl, Woody; sisters: Faye Holloway and Treva Harper; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 20 years, Mary Short in 2005; son, Niki in 2004 and eight siblings.
Service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Calling also, Tuesday 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to The Cancer Services of NE Indiana or the American Heart Assoc.
