James "Dick" R. Stricler's Obituary
James "Dick" R. Stricler, 83, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at home. Born in Marion, he was the son of the late Harlen and Elsie Stricler. He was a member of Blackhawk Ministries, Fort Wayne. He served his country in the US Army, was employed Alsons Corp. for over 20 years and was the Account Receivable Manager at Aeroquip for 13 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Debby (Tyrone) Moore and Martha Ann Stricler both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Anthony (Amy) Bowman, Arden (Jason) Robertson, and Adam (Anne) Bowman all of Fort Wayne; great grandchildren, Alex (Stephanie), Brianna, Madelyn, Aidan, Ashtyn, Ava, Archer, Ashley, and George; step grandchildren, Julius and Olivia Moore; and step great granddaughter, Jaelyn Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah "Sue" Stricler in 1997; and son-in-law, George Bowman in 1995.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Ron Hawkins officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial in Concordia Cemetery, Fort Wayne with military honors. Preferred memorials are to the family for a charity which will be chosen at a later date.
