James L. Rex's Obituary
James L. Rex, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Born in Ligonier, he was the son of the late Roy and Treva (Marshall) Rex. He was a member of Woodburn Missionary Church, Woodburn. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Jim retired in 1985 as a teacher in Antwerp, Ohio after 15 years and was a lifetime member of the National Education Association. He was also employed with the Ligonier Post Office from 1962 to 1967.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia; sons, Troy (Mindy) Rex of Grabill and Todd (Lora) Rex of Leo; grandchildren, Tristan, Logan, Colby, Mason, Tatem, and Addison Grace Rex; sister, Betty (Jim) Tuvell of Ligonier; and nieces, Debbie (Rich) Thies and Lisa (Mark) Hauguel. He was also preceded in death by sister, Mary Lou Poyser.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling half hour prior to service. Pastor Gary Hahn officiating. Calling is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Woodburn Missionary Church or Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
