I met Jimbob once. I was in the sweetwater guitar store just a few months ago when he walked in. I was playing the guitar when my father asked me to play “I Walk The Line” which caught Jimbob’s attention. He walked over with a guitar and told me to play a country classic. I let loose on The Wildwood Flower, and we took a few turns playing it. Then he sang Merle Haggard’s “Sing Me Back Home” and we did a gospel number together. He told me he wanted me to go along with him to The Bluegrass Barn and play with him as a part of his band. After I had to go to my guitar lesson he asked my parents to take me into Ohio the next day to play a show, but because of school I wasn’t able to. We got his contact information and I had planned to talk to him after the virus had gone and concerts started up again. I wish I had talked to him sooner. Like I said, I only met him once but I thought I’d share my story. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with his family today.
