James R. Gibson's Obituary
James Richard "Hoot" Gibson, Sr., 92, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at home with his family by his side. Born in Estill, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Turner) Gibson. He retired in 1995 from Kroger as a truck driver after 45 years. He was a past member of the Waynedale Masonic Lodge #739. He loved country music and telling a good joke. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Tucker and Annetta Roemer both of New Haven, Mona Lee Gibson of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lillian in 2013; son, James Gibson, Jr in 1975; and grandson, Corey Gibson in 2014. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Friday at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior.
