James Eugene "Jim" Evans' Obituary
James Eugene “Jim” Evans, 87, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Boyd and Ora (Huddleston) Evans. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47, Fort Wayne, Marine Corps League #1435, Fort Wayne, and the Navy Club Ship 245, New Haven. He enjoyed playing golf daily, volunteering at the Food Bank, fishing, and visiting casinos. Jim especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth (Bulmahn) Evans; children, Timothy (Jennie) Evans and Susan Evans; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Evans in 2023; granddaughter, Kendra Evans; and siblings, Edward and Barbara Evans.
Funeral service is 10:30 am Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green Street, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitations is also 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E, New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors.
