James "Jim" E. Cook's Obituary
James "Jim" E. Cook, 81, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation, Markle. Born on October 8, 1933 in New Haven, Indiana, he graduate from New Haven High School in 1952. He worked at Western Auto, WT Grant, Wayne Home Equipment, Midwest Tool and Die and was a longtime fixture at Westwood Lanes. He was known as the "best looking man in the world" to his family, whom he love dearly. His love, devotion, and pride in all his family ran deep. "Proud, loving father and grandfather, he was a treasure and true hero to those who loved him." He loved watching Norwell High School Basketball, assisting with coaching the Norwell High School bowling team, and spending time with family and friends. He always had a new joke or story to share, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone around him. He was an incredible bowler, bowling a perfect game at the age of 72. He was known as Mr. Perfect to the bowling and business community alike.
He is survived by his children, Gary (Laura) Cook of New Haven, Carol Jean Dossen, Mary (Randy) Frick, and Janice (Richard) Havener all of Zanesville, and Kathleen "Petie" (Randy) Bair of Chandler, AZ; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Thomas Combs. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Zelda Cook; brothers, Kenneth and George Cook; and sister Bonnie Combs.
Memorial service is 4 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association, Norwell High School Athletics, or the family – c/o Janice Havener to cover medical expenses.
