James Richard Doty's Obituary
James Richard "Jim" Doty, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed into the Lord's presence on Monday, June 3, 2024, at home with his family. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Earl and June (Forsyth) Doty. He was a member of Blackhawk Ministries, Fort Wayne, where he served as deacon, elder, school board chairman, and student ministries volunteer. He worked as a CPA at Dulin, Ward & DeWald for over 40 years, where he retired in 2010 as managing partner. He was a longtime board member for A Hope Center. He was an avid reader and jogger who loved to work in his gardens and watch IU Basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie; children, Erin (Dave Georges) Doty and Justin Doty; sister, Karla (Greg) Anderson; and grandchildren, David, Brian, April, Annie, and Lilah Doty. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Doty.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E State Blvd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
