James "Jim" A. Zink's Obituary
James “Jim” A. Zink, 77, of Harlan, died Monday, August 22, 2011 at home with his family by his side. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Arthur and Irene Zink. He was a charter member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven. Jim was a farrier for 40 years serving many horsemen in the tri-state area, retiring in 2004. He also was a school bus driver for East Allen County Schools for 22 years, and in his earlier years, worked for B.F. Goodrich Co.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria “Toosie”; children, Tammy (Roger) Barnhart of Auburn, Tim (Kellie) Zink, Jeff (Maureen) Zink, and Jess (Jennifer) Zink all of Harlan; brother, Richard (Nancy) Zink of New Haven; 12 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Emil Bosselman; and sister, Marjorie Strader.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service time. Pastor David Williamson officiating. Calling is also 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials are to St. James Lutheran Church or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
