James "Jim" Amstutz's Obituary
James “Jim” Lee Amstutz, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in St. Joe Township he was the son of the late Everett True and Garnett Arvilla (Federspiel) Amstutz. He retired in 1992 from the K-Mart Distribution Center after 35 years. He was a member of the Gloria Day Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country during the Korean War with the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 330, New Haven. He was a sportsman who enjoyed fishing and basketball. He also had a strong passion for gardening. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Kitzmiller) Amstutz; children, Cheryl Amstutz of Fort Wayne, Robin (Zach) Amstutz-Franken of Dittmer, MO, James Amstutz of Keystone, Kevin Amstutz of New Haven, Michele Fisher of Woodburn, and Nicole (Richard) Baird of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Marie Amstutz; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; twin great grandsons, James Lee Price and Benjamin John Price.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven with military honors. Preferred memorials are to SouthernCare Hospice, Fort Wayne.
