Ivan E Bosler's Obituary
Ivan E. Bosler, 89, of New Haven, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at The Waters, Fort Wayne. Born in Huntertown, he was the son of the late Horace and Marie (Sloffer) Bosler. He retired in 1995 from Phelps Dodge after 30 plus years. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #330, New Haven. Ivan enjoyed Fishing and IU Basketball. He especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan Bosler; sons, Gregory, and Brian Bosler; stepchildren, Lori (Scott) Spridgeon, Amy (Patrick) Donovan; and Timothy (Traci) Bruick; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Lynn (Connie) Bosler, David (Cheryl) Bosler, Kay Shady, and Ann (Keith) Gerbers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mellany in 1988; and son, Steven in 2011, and his siblings, Eldon Lee Bosler and Beulah Bosler Flora. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuessday, April 4, 2023, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E State Blvd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at the church. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 330, New Haven. Pastor Nate Widener officiating. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Easterseals RISE, Angola, or Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne. Arrangements by Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
