Iva Geneve Sheets' Obituary
Iva Geneve Sheets, 92, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Kingston Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late George and Bessie (Gooding) Doctor. Hard working, perceptive, and full of generosity, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. Geneve was a seamstress at Bennett’s for 28 years until 1995. She finished her career working as a cashier, breakfast pizza maker and “free advice giver” at Main Street Oasis gas station until her late 80’s when she finally retired.
She is survived by sons, Louis (Coleen) Sheets of Naples, FL and Charles (Jeanne) Sheets of Lutz, FL; grandchildren, CAJ, Austin, and Celeste Sheets; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Sheets in 1990; daughter, Charlotte K. Sheets in 2000; three brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral service is Tuesday, October 16th 11:00 a.m. at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior. Pastor Timothy Edwards officiating. Burial in the church cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are to Woodburn Lutheran School.
