Irene Schlink's Obituary
Irene Schlink, 95, of New Haven, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Voors) Meyer. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, and the Altar & Rosary Society. She worked for G.E. and later helped managed the family farm. Irene enjoyed gardening and cross stitching, but especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, , Rose Ann (Tim) Kammeyer of Maquoketa, IA, William (Sue) Schlink, Jeanette (Steve) Pribble, Carolyn Gaham, Lois (Kent) Goeglein, all of New Haven, and Pat (Neil) Ruger of Fort Wayne; Sisters, Marie Jordan of Fort Wayne, and Agnes Balcer of Columbus, OH; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Eugene Schlink; siblings, Raymond Meyer, Sister Paschal (Velma Meyer), and Stella Ehinger. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Tuesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil at 3:45 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorial are to St. John’s School or Church.
